Blue Fan Designer Gift
The Blue Fan Personalised Birthday Mug is a designer gift recreating the finish of various
ladie's powder compacts from years gone by. If you've ever seen these types of compacts
that often appear on antiques TV shows, you'll know the sort of look we've aimed to achieve.
While it's almost impossible to recreate the exact look of the glass/metallic shiny finish of the
compacts on a ceramic mug, we think we've done a pretty good job. We first created a series
of strips in alternating shades of blue, then created gradients for each of them so we could
make them look like shining metal and then filled each strip with a special layer to add a
texture look to them.
We then shaped them into a fan or shell shape to complete the look.
On the actual mug design, we've placed two large fan shapes and a smaller one in the centre
of the mug. The two large ones have the same text overlaid on them which is your
birthday message, and the smaller centre one features the date of birth.
Our example above reads as follows:
"Happy Birthday Helen"
"with love from
John & Anne"
and the smaller centre fan reads:
"21st June 1965"
The text has been coloured to compliment the blue fan colours and has also been arched to
follow the shape of the fan.
Please note that if you wish to have more than 2 "from" names
on the large fans, the text may need to be reduced in size as space dictates. You may also
opt to have something else on the smaller fan instead of the Date of Birth, EG:
"40th Celebrations" etc. Again we may have to adjust the size of text as space dictates.
Mugs supplied shall be our all-white dishwasher and microwave safe ceramic mugs.
