Care Instructions for your gifts
purchased from imPRESSions-Designer-Gifts.
Provided the following simple care instructions are followed,
your item should give you much pleasure for a long time to come.
Mugs

Our mugs are good quality ceramic mugs which have a specially treated exterior coating to allow high quality sublimation printing on to them.

As at January 2008, we have limited supplies of our Blue & White Mugs that are used in some of the illustrations of our various products and that we've been sending out for orders last year. When supplies of these do finish, we shall use an all-white design mug instead. Designs of new products added to our listings and mugs made to order for personalised gifts at this time shall all use this new style of gift mug. Some pre-made regular stock gift items (non personalised gifts) are still held in the blue & white glazed mugs and shall be supplied as such until these also run out. An added benefit of this new mug is that they are fully dishwasher safe unlike the blue & white ones.

Mugs come in a presentation box when available, and when dispatching your order to you, we package this with bubble wrap and place into an additional mailing box or strong jiffy bag for added protection.

Coasters The coasters are wood-based coasters again with a surface that has been treated to allow sublimation printing. This surface should only be wiped down with a damp clean cloth. The coasters should not be immersed in water.

Coasters come packed in pairs (except for the Mug & Coaster Sets where you shall receive one mug and one coaster with your coaster being inserted into the front of the plain white mug box) in cellophane pouches with a "header" card insert (see a typical image for a coaster pack on our Souvenir pages).

Plates Plates are similar to our mugs above in that they are good quality white ceramic plates with the central area being the treated surface for taking images via sublimation printing. The plates come in two different sizes and styles, though both sizes and styles may not always be advertised on the site. This shall depend on availability and popularity of any given style. The sizes and styles are:

1: A plain white 8 inch overall diameter plate.
The central printable area is approximately 3.5" inches in diameter.

2: The same plate as above but featuring a gold rim on the edge.

3: A plain white 10 inch overall diameter plate.
The central printable area is approximately 6 inches in diameter.

4: A 10 inch plate as above but with a gold rim on the edge.

We shall clearly indicate which size and style of plate is being advertised on any given page and also the cost of the plates themselves so you can be sure as to what type of plate you shall receive.

The plates are only designed for display purposes, and therefore should not need regular washing. Generally, you should only need to dust down or use a moist cloth. If you do need to wash them periodically, then again please only hand-wash them. Do not use a dishwasher.

The plates do not come supplied with any fixtures or fitting for displaying, but these can be easily obtained through many retailers nationwide. Unlike our mugs, the plates themselves are not boxed, but we do wrap them with layers of bubble wrap and for postage, usually pack them into suitable boxes or padded jiffy bags with sufficient layers of padding and/or bubble wrap to protect them through the mailing system.

What is Sublimation Printing?
Sublimation printing is a process that uses specialist inks and papers for printing directly onto specially treated blank items such as those described above. The images are transferred onto the products using high-temperature presses, and this process means the image is bonded or pressed into the actual body of the product, and provided the above care instructions are followed, it should be a permanent image.
As other products are added to our site, we shall likewise update
this page to reflect any changes. If you have any queries
